Friday, 19 December, Moorea and Tahiti Nui

Well, time to leave beautiful Moorea, so we ordered another room service breakfast, which was again wonderful, and Gail was happy with her banana waffle again. We put on our suits and spent an hour or so doing some final times in the water off of our deck, watching and feeding fish. At noon we called for them to send one of the guys in the golf cart, to haul all of our luggage, and us, back to the front desk area. We checked out and waited in the lobby for a while for the shuttle to the ferry terminal. We ended up on a different ferry than we expected, but it didn't matter, since it got us to the same place at about the same time.

In Papeete the ferry terminal is only a couple hundred yards from the cruise ship dock, so we simply grabbed our bags from the ferry and rolled the bags as we walked over to the Tahitian Princess. We checked in quickly, as it was past the rush of the first ones to check in.  We found our cabin easily, and it was just as we expected, though a bit smaller than the one on the Volendam. After running up to the buffet for some lunch, I went back to town to get some money and pick up a few things we needed for the trip. We did get the late seating in the dining room that we had requested, but for the first night it is open seating, with assigned seating starting the next day for the rest of the trip. We had great prime rib with a very nice couple from Holland. We went to bed early, as in the morning we have a tour of Moorea pretty early in the morning.
