Monday, 12 January, At Sea

We had a lazy day at sea, catching up on all sorts of things that have accumulated during the last 23 days. For much of the day we could see the coast of Cuba as we passed the west end of the island. After bridge class, once again just the two of us, we went to the photo area and picked out the pictures from the cruise that we wanted to purchase. Gail went to the Purser to see our bill, just to make sure all was correct, which it was, of course. We also did some final shopping, getting a couple of tshirts, as well as a very nice shawl for Gail to wear on cool evenings and at dinner. After lunch we played bridge and were given a prize for "most improved pair", although we only finished fifth of seven for the afternoon. Gail went to tea again, and finally had a chance to play the slot machines to lose her obligatory twenty dollars. She picked up her xrays at the infirmary so we can give them to Dr. Loveland when we get home. She had already received eight pages of medical records, so he'll know what happened and perhaps help her to finally get past the wheezing and coughing.

Since it was the last formal night, we decided to pose for formal pictures before dinner. The dinner included the typical "Parade of the Baked Alaskas", which is always lots of fun. We all exchanged addresses and emails so we could keep in touch, or at least send Christmas cards.  We were tired after the formal dinner and went right to bed.
