Saturday, 17 January, Aventura, Florida Today was a day to catch up and relax. About 1100am we went to the very large, very high end, Aventura Mall that was a half mile from our hotel. We had some brunch in the food court and looked around and shopped. We were looking for a hair clipper so I can buzz my own hair and beard, and after trying several stores finally found one in Sears, so bought it for the same price as one haircut at home. We then went back to the room and re-sorted everything that we had so that we could ship one bag home. We loaded my black hard-sided bag with all sorts of things we wouldn't need for the next four weeks (souvenirs and cold weather clothes, mostly) and I took it to a UPS store to have it shipped. It weighed 67 pounds, so the airline would have charged a ton extra for it. As it is, they charge extra for everything on USAir. We decided to just dump everything else into the remaining bags and really sort things out in Orlando. Later we went back to the mall to have supper at the Grand Lux Cafe, a very nice restaurant with an excellent menu. It turns out it is a relatively new chain started by Cheesecake Factory, but of course we've not heard of it in Boise. Gail was thrilled, as they had the best Key Lime Pie she's had in a long time, maybe forever. Back in the room we watched a movie that we'd heard about, but not seen yet: Juno. We really enjoyed it and can see why it won awards. I ended the evening uploading more pictures to our website. Back to itinerary (trip home page)
