Supervise all computer and network operations of a 500,000 volume university library. Current technologies include over 180 networked workstations with access to all software, an online integrated library system (Geac Advance 6.7.14) running on a Sun Enterprise 3000 Solaris server, 25 networked CDROM drives, six Novell 4.1 servers, and full Internet access to all. Heavily involved in training for all staff on all automated systems, including word processing, electronic mail, and Internet services of all types. Work closely with campus Office for Information Technology in development of a variety of services, including the library and university World Wide Web servers. Developed the original Boise State University home page, and developed and maintain three library web servers and their contents. Assist the Office of Information Technology by serving as Assistant Postmaster and Assistant LISTSERV Manager. Handle technical management for several library technology lists that I developed, but have turned active administration over to others recently; assist students and staff at Boise State Uuniversity with managing other lists hosted on campus. Work closely with Idaho State Library, which also uses the integrated library system for most of its operations. Cooperate with other libraries in the region in development of networked systems. Frequently speak to classes on issues related to library technology, the Internet, and censorship. Serve as library liaison to four academic departments (currently Chemistry, Physics, Computer Information Systems, and Instructional Performance Technology) for collection development and other activities. Provide reference service to patrons four hours per week. Received grants to implement Internet-based Ariel Interlibrary Loan system ($2,000), to implement the LiLI.org web server ($9,000) and to upgrade Catalyst integrated library system ($139,900). Presented papers and training sessions at regional and national conferences. Report to University Librarian and hold academic rank of Professor with tenure.

Library included 180,000 volumes; 1,100 current periodicals; OCLC cataloging, union list and interlibrary loan; online acquisition system; online circulation and public access catalog; intensive library instruction program; regional special collections and museum functions; and full audiovisual services, including television studio.  Developed and implemented all of the automated services. Participated in college committees and activities. Worked for development of statewide cooperative services as member of Colorado Network Implementation Council and Colorado Council on Library Development. Co-founder of MARMOT, the western Colorado automated library network, which provides online catalog and circulation control services to 22 libraries. Member of the MARMOT Council and MARMOT committees. Founder of SWIFT (State-Wide Interlibrary Facsimile Transmission) Project, which serves over 50 libraries of all types in all parts of the state. Reported to Vice-President for Academic Affairs and held academic rank of Associate Professor.

Operated a statistical and computer consulting firm specializing in research design, data collection, statistical analysis, and microcomputer consulting and training.  Contracts with University of New Mexico General Library, University of New Mexico College of Education, Los Lunas Hospital and Training School, College of Santa Fe, and other agencies.  Studies included survey instruments, observational data collection, and many types of statistical analyses.  Other projects included library space planning and microcomputer training for librarians.
